What does it mean to curate our own reality? Is it in the work we do or the people we spend time with or the actions we take? There comes a point when you just know that being on auto-pilot mode isn’t for you. You could be feeling uninspired, humdrum or looking for more ways to create different possibilities. I knew a different universe is available for me after working as a senior executive in the corporate structure for over 25 years. It took a while but I knew I needed change. I needed much more joy – more creative freedom and more choices .
Many of us act as though our life is just subject to chance and with no choice over our reality whatsoever. And that's exactly what gets created as our life. Those who don't choose to have the freedom to curate their own life are never as joyful and satisfied as they could be. After all, it's hard to be joyful when we are locking ourselves into having no choice.
Reality continually presents itself as a brand new moment. We have the choice of either going through the motions and being on auto-pilot mode, or choosing to consciously curate our own reality. We can either remain stuck in our tracks and stuck in our life, or we can choose to create a different reality right now.
If we want a life of glory and adventure we must allow ourselves to choose what works for us. Curating our own reality requires a different mindset, and we all know that our mindset and attitude play a big part in our life, getting our curiosity expanding and flowing.
The ability to curate our own reality is the key to a gratifying life, but using this ability requires discipline and adroitness, one that we haven't been encouraged to develop. We have to be willing to step outside the box of limitation and be as different as we truly are. Remember, any limitation takes commitment and determination to change.
Maybe you're like so many women I've talked to over the years who have suspended their desires and chosen to live their lives by other people's points of views. They end up doing what everybody else says is right for them. But what happens when we spend our whole life just being and doing something so unfulfilling? It drains our power and diminishes our potency. The vibrancy of our life seems to be reducing. I’ve learnt through multiple experiences that different possibilities can exist when we're willing to be and do something different. We've got to give ourselves a place where we can be or do something different otherwise we will end up feeling depleted, bitter and twisted.
What would happen if we didn’t choose from obligation and motivation? What would you like to create as your life? What would you do in life if money were no object? This is your life, your dream, your desire and you can make a choice to be a curator of your own reality .... connect with your awareness to discover what needs to be done to make this happen, and then make a choice to take action.
The amazing thing is that we can begin to create different possibilities and reconnect with our own creative energy anytime we choose. We just need to recapture the curator within and begin the activity of curating our own reality. Leonardo da Vinci once said, “It has long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.” We've got to be willing to be the energy of what we would like to create as our life, instead of trying to operate according to other people's points of view and standards. It’s a choice we have to make to be everything we are.
Over to you — What energy would you have to be today in order to have a totally different reality and a completely different life?
